Full Story:Vikram,a young American-Indian boy,comes to India in search of his father (Karminder Singh Sidhu) who for one year did not return to America. Vikram with a reference from Shamsher Singh,his father's friend,reaches the house of advocate Avtar Gill at Patiala. Vikram is shaken when advocate Gill tells him that Karminder had died in a road accident while going to Delhi Airport. Dismayed,Vikram wants to meet his grandparents before he leaves for USA. At Sampuran Singh Sidhu's haveli,preparations are going on for his grand-daughter Simmi's wedding. Sampuran Singh (Dada) and his wife (Dadi) are stunned when Vikram tells them that he is their grandson. Vikram is equally taken aback when he comes to know that his father was already married in India and has a daughter Simmi from his first wife,Veeran.
