Full Story:Shatabdir Galpo is a touching story of the decadence of our social values that is reflected in the heartlessness of the privileged class & results in the insurmountable hardships of the underprivileged one who lack the wealth,knowledge or power & have to sell their dignity to earn a decent living. Leaving his family behind in utter distress,a janitor at a government office,commits suicide. But his close friend Dashu tries every possible means to get his late friends dues cleared after the widow is thrown out from her father's house. Dashu finds her a room on rent. According to the head clerk's demand the widow is brought to the office even in the critical stage of pregnancy & she gives birth to her child there.
