Ryan Murphy Launches $500K Fund To Support Casts and Crews On His Shows During Strikes

Ryan Murphy is on Team WGA and Team SAG-AFTRA and helps union members who need it as long as the Hollywood strikes are going on. “Every story we’ve made, every character we’ve brought to life, and every set we’ve built has its own way of fitting together.”

“As my friends deal with the problems caused by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, it’s even more important that we help each other,” Murphy, 57, said in an Instagram post on Friday, September 8, through his Ryan Murphy Production account. “Because of this, I’m putting up $500,000 to start a fund to help them.” The talented players and teams who work hard for Ryan Murphy Productions can get help from this fund.

Top TV producer Ryan Murphy is starting the Ryan Murphy Productions Assistance Fund “to support the exceptional casts and committed crews” of the company’s shows who have been hurt by the current writers and actors strikes. The first half-million dollars will be put into the fund.

Murphy wrote on Instagram about the project, “Every story we’ve told, every character we’ve brought to life, and every set we’ve built has a unique thread of collaboration.” “It’s even more important that we help each other as my coworkers deal with problems caused by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.”

This is not the first time Murphy has given money because of a strike. He is one of the most well-known and well-paid showrunners in the business, and after the WGA strike is over, he is about to sign a deal with Disney. After the writers’ strike started in May, Murphy and other top showrunners gave a total of $1.7 million to the Entertainment Community Fund.

Murphy wrote today, “Together, we’ll get through this chapter, and soon we’ll be back to creating, inspiring, and innovating in the industry we love.” During the summer, Ryan Murphy Prods. got a lot of attention because even though the writers’ strike was still going on, two of its New York-based shows kept making new episodes.
