Slow Horses, the Apple TV+ version of Mick Herron’s popular Slough House novel series, has successfully undermined our confidence in the country’s security agencies. In the face of institutional decline, bureaucracy, corruption, and indifference, it is made clear just how much they rely on luck—and occasionally freakish moments of competence.
Epic amounts of flatulence, mind-boggling levels of overconfidence, and watching Gary Oldman talk with his mouth full more frequently than anyone should have been required of us. And so far, so good.
This is why we’re excited to announce that a fourth season of Slow Horses has also been confirmed. Production on the third season has already begun. We are destined for two more years of spies’ purgatory in Slough House, and we love it.
Slow Horses season 3 potential release date: When’s it on?
Season one debuted on April 1st 2022, and season two followed closely (they were shot back-to-back) in December. We may anticipate season three to debut in late 2023 because most television series take around a year to complete before airing.
Given this history, it’s feasible that the show will film seasons three and four back-to-back, which would be fantastic for those who are eager to watch them one after the other.
After Slow Horses seasons three and four are released, the producers will have time to consider the franchise’s future, which will undoubtedly include more seasons. There have even been whispers of a season five and six because, after all, there are enough books.

Although we don’t yet know who he will portray, it shouldn’t take long. We’re going with renegade CIA agent Frank Harkness or, in a pinch, MI5 high-up Claude Whelan. Avid readers will have their guesses.
Given that seasons three and four were shot concurrently, the gap between them may not be excessively long.
However, until we learn the precise release date for the third season, we may savor the knowledge that our favorite characters will at least be returning for season three.

Slow Horses season 3 plot: What will happen?
Season three will almost certainly follow the plot of book three because the show has so far been fairly true to the original books. In fact, Jack Lowden acknowledged in his interview with Collider that the book is the only place to look for spoilers.
