The plot of Street Flow
This is the tale of the Traore brothers, members of the newest generation of immigrants from Mali who reside in a low-income neighborhood outside of Paris. The oldest dealer is Demba, who runs a successful but undoubtedly dangerous operation. Soulaymann is a diligent individual who does well in law school.
The trouble-prone high schooler Noumouke looks up to Demba, who drives a flashy car and carries a large wad of cash. Khadijah, their mother, is not only ill but also anxiously ill because their father died many years ago. Every day, Soulaymann commutes to Paris for classes before rushing back to the suburbs to teach young children.
While Soulaymann defends the government and constructs an argument contrary to his own reality, he prepares for an oral debate against Lisa (Chloe Jouannet), who will contend that the state is failing its most vulnerable citizens. This sparks a brief relationship. As a result of accidentally decking a teacher during a fight in gym class, Noumouke is expelled in the meanwhile.
He begs Dembe for money, who tells him to stop begging and find a way to get money instead. As a result, he and a classmate steal a large amount of money from the apartment of one of Dembe’s rival drug dealers. As problems develop, Khadijah has a stroke, and the movie dramatically concludes.
