Plot of Gabby’s Dollhouse

Gabby's Dollhouse Season 8

Gabby, who loves cats, gets some mail in her meow-meow mailbox at the start of each episode. Once the door is open, our hero shrinks down into her cat dollhouse and leaves reality for CGI graphics to go on an adventure that takes up the rest of the show. There are pirate-themed days, gameshow reenactments, making healthy snacks, and even trying to get rid of the hiccups.

It’s all pretty straightforward, and there’s enough variety between each show to keep things interesting. There are a lot of interesting cats and a Panda named Pandy Paws who all have their quirks and personalities. The mischievous blue cat CatRat is Meowth from Pokemon.

Cakey is a lively cupcake cat with sprinkled tears. MerCat is a mermaid cat, Babybox is the making cat, and Floyd is the real cat who shows up now and then. In each episode, Gabby meets these characters and asks for their help or goes on a mission to help them.

Themes of friendship, love, and joy are big here, and they help keep everything feeling warm and cuddly. At the end of each episode, there is also a singing number or a craft show, which is a nice way to break things up. As a small complaint, some of these do feel a bit repetitive.

For example, the pirate and hiccup shows use the same ingredients to make a face, but do it in a slightly different way. This isn’t much of a barrier though, and to be honest, kids won’t even notice.
