“Gadar 2,” a Bollywood movie starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, has been running in cinemas for 35 days, and it’s striving to surpass the record-breaking earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Pathaan,” which currently holds the title of the highest-grossing Bollywood movie with 543.05 crore rupees in India.

After a fantastic five-week stint at the box office, the momentum of “Gadar 2” has slowed down, particularly after the release of the movie “Jawan.” According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, “Gadar 2” earned 48 lakh rupees on Thursday, bringing its total collection in India to 517.06 crore rupees.

Directed by Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2” faced tough competition from Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” and Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2.” Within just one week of its release, “Gadar 2” amassed a staggering 284.63 crore rupees in India, while “OMG 2” managed to collect 85.05 crore rupees.

“Gadar 2” is now attempting to surpass the lifetime earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which remains the highest-grossing Bollywood film with 543.05 crore rupees in domestic net earnings, according to Bollywood Hungama.

However, “Gadar 2” is still approximately 26 crore rupees short of achieving this milestone.

Shah Rukh Khan had a remarkable start to the year with the blockbuster “Pathaan,” earning over 1,000 crore rupees worldwide. He has returned to the screen with the action-packed thriller “Jawan,” which is also setting new records.

Directed by Atlee, “Jawan” managed to accumulate a remarkable 650 crore rupees worldwide in just seven days following its release.

Director Anil Sharma revealed that “Gadar 2,” a sequel to the 2001 film “Gadar Ek Prem Katha,” was produced on a budget of 60 crore rupees. Sunny Deol reportedly reduced his fee for the movie due to budget constraints, and the film did not utilize visual effects extensively due to budget limitations.

Though “Gadar 2” looked like it would make the most money this year at first, “Jawan’s” success has made that less likely. Despite this, “Gadar 2” has become Sunny Deol’s most popular movie.
