The movie “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Atlee, is doing exceptionally well at the box office in India and worldwide. In its first week, it’s on track to cross 350 crore rupees in India and 700 crore rupees globally, making it the biggest opening week in Hindi cinema history.

When the film debuted on Janmashtami, it made an impressive 75 crore rupees in India, setting a record for the highest debut of any Hindi film.

The excitement continued, and on the third day, it earned 80 crore rupees across India. In just three days, it also crossed the 100 crore rupees mark worldwide.

Even as the week went on, “Jawan” continued to perform well, bringing in 32 crore rupees in India on Monday and 26 crore rupees on Tuesday. On its seventh day, it added 23 crore rupees net to its Indian box office earnings.

The film’s success is not limited to India, as it’s set to reach the 700 crore rupees mark in global gross earnings by the end of its extended first week.

Jawan Box Office Collection Day 7

The film was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. In Tamil, it had a 15% occupancy on day seven, and in Telugu, it had a 23% occupancy. Directed by Atlee, known for his work with Tamil superstar Vijay, “Jawan” also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in supporting roles.

On the other hand, the blockbuster film “Gadar 2” seems to be slowing down at the box office after earning 516 crore rupees. While it’s still around 27 crore rupees away from surpassing “Pathaan” as the biggest Hindi-language hit in India, “Jawan” is expected to overtake both “Gadar 2” and “Pathaan” in the coming days.

Overall, movies like “Pathaan,” “Gadar 2,” and “Jawan” have brought Bollywood back to its pre-pandemic glory after a few uncertain years. Other successful films like “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” “Dream Girl 2,” “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” “Satyaprem Ki Katha,” and “The Kerala Story” have also contributed to this revival. Shah Rukh Khan fans can look forward to his upcoming film “Dunki” later this year.
