From the very first episode of season 14 of Bob’s Burgers, it was clear that Jay Johnston had been replaced. Eric Bauza is now Jimmy Pesto’s voice actor. Johnston was in the group of Trump supporters who broke into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
After that, they told him he couldn’t go to Bob’s Fried Chicken. Fox 23 said that video of Johnston and other protesters attacking police officers who were outside the Capitol showed that he was there, but he turned down police offers to go with them.
Johnston was seen passing around a stolen police shield over his head. Johnston, who had roles on R. Kelly and Mr. Show, was one of the people who rioted in the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Trump lied and said he would win the 2020 presidential election, so people who believed him attacked the US Capitol and killed and hurt people.
After that, Johnston was fired from the show and charged with several crimes related to the 2011 riot. Bauza has hired a new voice actor after firing two earlier this year. During this season of Solar Opposites, he also took over as Chris the Red Goobler’s voice actor from the guilty Justin Roiland. The area around Toronto where Eric Bauza was born and raised is still home.
His first job was as a voice actor at John Kricfaluski’s animation studio Spumco. That’s where he worked on The Ripping Friends and the Ren and Stimpy ran in 2003. After that, Bauza got bigger roles that gave him more chances to show off his impressionist skills. In the Puss in Boots spin-off show The Adventures of Puss in Boots, he played the main role that Antonio Banderas played.
As Splinter, he did voice work for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rise of the Crystal Skull. In several animated Lego Star Wars shows, he plays Luke Skywalker. If no one knew why Jay Johnston quit Bob’s Burgers, there might not have been much talk about who should take his place.
Eric Bauza can play a lot of different tones, so there isn’t much difference between how he plays Jimmy Pesto and how Johnston plays It. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, and Marvin the Martian are all voiced by this actor on the Looney Toons show. He was the voice of Foop on The Fairly Odd Parents, Fozzie Bear on Muppets Babies, and Thunderbolt Ross in Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
Jimmy Pesto and Marshmallow have both had their voices changed for season 14 of Bob’s Burgers. This change happened because people wanted characters of color to be voiced by people from the same background.
Everyone liked the choices that were made because they didn’t really change how the show worked or how the characters interacted with each other. Bob’s Burgers can change and adapt because they hired Eric Bauza. His job was to carry on the funny stories that Bob and Jimmy Pesto were telling each other.
